Come and join for an engaging and hands-on lesson about what rocks can tell you! We'll be talking about different rock types and how they form, as well as how to identify various rocks and minerals. There will be hands-on lessons with rock samples. If weather permits, we'll also take a walk along Coyote Run to investigate wild rocks in their natural habitat! On the trail we will speak about how mountains are formed, and the geologic history of Cheyenne Mountain itself. The program will begin in the Visitor Center conference room at 11:30AM. Dress for the weather, and be prepared to walk less than a mile and a half. Registration required, ages 14 and up.
