Education and Outreach
Come out to our special Stargazing Night to get the rare chance of seeing the stars in the park! Parking will be limited to our Middle Parking Lot. Registration is required. The event will take place on our Upper Park Lot and on the Visitor Center patio. We will have the Denver Astronomical Society setting up telescopes for the public to view through! Also come by our education table to learn about stargazing on your own and how wildlife uses the night sky! Entrance gates close at 7:30 PM for incoming traffic, so make sure to get to the park on time! Headlights from vehicles greatly affect night sky events, so if you plan on leaving early, please let the parking staff know so that you park further away from the event and won't disrupt it when leaving. Red lights only during the event. Please do not use a regular white flashlight or phone light while attending, as it disrupts our natural night vision which takes a long time to get back. Bring your own foldable chairs and water. Snacks and soft drinks will be for sale at the event. The trails will be closed at normal closing hours. All attendees of the event must stay in the parking lots or Visitor Center patio.
