Wildlife Viewing Hike

 08/29/2025  |  06:30 PM - 08:30 PM
Mueller State Park  |  Registration Required

Quietly hike through the forest and meadows in search of wildlife who call the park home like mule deer, black bear, foxes, elk, great horned owls and more. Bring a headlamp or flashlight, binoculars and water. This is a 2.5 mile, moderate hike. *Binoculars will be available to borrow.* Dress in layers. It will cool off as the sun goes down. You know your children, family members and friends better then we do; All ages are welcome as long as they can make the hike and use their quiet voice. There are only so many spots available to increase the likelihood of seeing animals so you must register online or by calling the Visitor Center at 719-687-2366. If spots are full sign up for the waitlist because there are usually a couple of last minute cancellations. Meet at Grouse Mountain trailhead. Seeing wildlife is not guaranteed.
