Program: Strawberry Moon Night Hike Time: 8:00 pm – 10:30 pm Location: Limekiln Trailhead Details: Join us for our 5K Strawberry Moon Night Hike, where we will navigate Cheyenne Mountain State Park trails by the light of the full moon. During the hike, our volunteer naturalist, Ranger Rick, will make stops during the hike to discuss our park’s history, share facts about the Strawberry Moon, hear Native American stories about the moon, and discuss traits of several of the park’s nocturnal wildlife. The hike is limited to 20 participants and is recommended for ages 7 and up; children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. In addition to the hike, NASA Solar System Ambassador, Dave Warner, will be here with fellow members of the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society and their telescopes to share the wonders of the universe. Spring presents its own unique sky for the viewing and discussion of solar system and deep space objects, so come on out! The astronomy program is recommended for all ages; children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Come for the hike, astronomy, or both! The hike and astronomy program are weather permitting and may be cancelled. Free Event, Park Pass Required.
