Lake Appreciation Day is a special day out of the year where park staff and volunteers get together and work on a clean up project around the park. These projects usually consist of a shoreline clean up of trash, debris and fishing lines and/or cutting invasive Mullein weeds that are prevalent throughout the park. The service project portion is open to everyone (even vendors and agencies) and usually runs from around 8:00AM to 12:00PM. After the service project is lunch provided for the volunteers by the park (12:00 PM-1:00PM).
