Pinecones: Take Shelter!

Bring your budding naturalist for a morning of discovery and outdoor fun in our pinecones program designed specifically for children ages 3-7. Through hands-on activities and a short nature walk, kids will engage with the beauty of the natural world, learning about the basic survival needs for people, pets, and wildlife. Where: Timber Picnic Area This program is best enjoyed with a parent or a guardian present. Rain or shine-we will adapt to the weather. This is a free program with a State Parks Pass (KCW, Annual, or Daily) Space is limited, so please register in advance!

Lacey S - Naturalist
I love Lory! I attended programs with my daughter when she was young, and then decided to start volunteering during school breaks. I work at school in special education, and love spending my summers at the parks with kids and folk of all ages. My hope is that you will fall in love with the park like I have.
Margaret R - Naturalist
Margaret is passionate about Nature, educating the public and stewardship. Previously,, Margaret was a Volunteer for Open Lands and Trails with the City of Loveland. She was in environmental education, trail building, building informative nature walks and story telling. Margaret enjoys working with the public and children ages 3-up. Additionally, Margaret served as a Butterfly Monitor at Lory State Park.
