Education and Outreach

Cherry Creek State Park will be attending the Fishing Frenzy Derby at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Refuge. We will be providing a table with Leave No Trace we are requesting volunteers to assist with this important educational event. We need volunteers to help set up and teach kids how to cast through the game backyard bass fishing. Volunteers will work with kids instructing them how to cast for their very first time. Fishing Frenzy Derby Saturday, September 14, 2024 @ 9:00 AM (MDT) Ages 5-16 · Co-Ed Offsite • 6060 E Parkway Drive Commerce City, CO 80022 Description Join Commerce City Parks and Recreation and the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge in our new and improved Annual Fishing Frenzy. This is open to all ages! Event is free. Derby $5. Great prizes and giveaways! The derby is for youth between 5 - 16 years old and $5 to register. Under 16 yrs. no fishing license required unless your 16-year-old has a student ID no need for a fishing license. Take a break from fishing to visit our interactive booths, visit with urban farm and their fluffy animals. Fishing Derby- 9am-10:30.
