Join volunteers on a guided hike to the less-crowded south end of the park. Learn about the history of our homesteaders and visit some of their remaining structures on and off the trails. Meet at the Visitor Center patio at 8:00 am for a brief orientation. The full hike is 7 miles (with a few steep uphill portions in the middle, approximately 1400 feet in elevation gain throughout the hike). There are turn-back options 1.5 and 2 miles. Bring water, your lunch, and dress for the weather. Registration required.

General InfoI retired in 2016 after 33 years in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety Consulting where I worked for clients and internally, all over the world. In my spare time, I am an avid hiker and backpacker but also bike, fish, garden, golf, play pickle ball, and many other things. I have been in Colorado since 1984 and a volunteer at Roxborough State Park since 2015. I am involved in raptor monitoring, Leave No Trace, History, and the Colorado Natural Areas Program among other things.
