Campground Host


Description:
Campground hosts are needed in three separate campgrounds to assist with park operations. This spectacular mountain park consists of 71,000 acres and the largest moose herd in Colorado. Volunteer responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: greeting campers, light maintenance, cabin and camp site maintenance, entrance station/visitor center staffing, and assisting the interpretive staff with promoting and possibly presenting interpretive programs and hikes. Electrical hookups are available at the Ranger Lakes Campground; there are also two trailer sites at the park's maintenance compound with full hookups.
Time Commitment:
Minimum of 20 hours per week, with the majority of those hours occurring on weekends and holidays.

Entrance Gate Attendant


Description:
Assist the park's Visitor Services Section by serving in the entrance station(s), selling passes and permits, dispensing information, and answering questions.
Time Commitment:
As Needed

Special Projects


Description:
Write and develop outdoor interpretive signs for self-guiding trails or roadside exhibits. Recruit other volunteers. Photograph or video park programs, special events, visitors, or resources. Assist in planning volunteer recognition or social events. Train other volunteers. Provide equipment, donated funds, or expertise on special projects. Design and create puppets, historical costumes, and more.

Special Projects - Winter Assistance


Description:
Come volunteer in a spectacular high-alpine setting! Help us with our winter trails program and visitor center at State Forest State Park. Housing or campsite may be provided for the right candidate with 20+ volunteer hours per week.
Time Commitment:
Varies. 20+ hours per person per week in exchange for on-park site.

Trail Work


Description:
Assist with design, construction, and maintenance of park trails. Serve as crew member or crew leader on trail construction. renovation and maintenance. Design or install trail signage. Participate in prearranged trail or maintenance days.

As Needed
