Friends of Colorado State Parks

Description:
The Friends of Colorado State Parks is building a network of everyday people who work to protect and care for the places in which they play, recreate, and adventure. We accomplish this by providing support for local Friends groups affiliated with individual State Parks across Colorado. Now more than ever before, our State Parks need the support of Friends. As a Friends of Colorado State Parks board member, you help train and educate local State Park Friends groups in nonprofit management and unite these groups in our collective mission to protect and enhance Colorado’s most important resources. We are especially excited to connect with committed volunteers who have experience in any of the following areas: • Volunteer engagement • Fiscal management best practices • Accounting • Fundraising • Strategic planning • Community and youth engagement • Marketing • Social media outreach • Nonprofit board member recruitment/retention best practices Statewide "Friends" members attend board meetings, act as a liaison to contact and support local Friends, organize two annual Friends Rendezvous to bring together Friends groups from across the state to share successes, challenges, and offer training on topics of interest. Friends of Colorado State Parks is a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit, but board member time counts toward CPW volunteer hours. If you are interested in joining the Friends of Colorado State Parks Board, please send a resume and cover letter to [email protected]. The Board will review your submission, take a vote at a board meeting, and get back in touch with you.
