Description:

Maintenance volunteers serve directly with the Park Resource Technician on daily projects and tasks.

This position will be responsible for all general campground maintenance and cleaning of public facilities and picnic areas including cleaning, showers, toilets, and picking up trash. 

Landscaping to include mowing, weed trimming, watering and weed control.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Provide and ensure quality customer service, facility maintenance, repair, cleanliness.
  • Provide information and assistance to visitors. 
  • May also assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, transporting materials, supplies and perform other duties as assigned. 
  • This position has the opportunity to be a resident volunteer with a full-hookup site with 50 amp electricity provided. 

Primary residency will be at the Fruita section however, volunteers may assist with work at any location- Fruita, Connected Lakes, Corn Lake/SWA or Island Acres.  Please reach out to Bob Morris with interest in the position.

Time Commitment:

The volunteer is required to provide a minimum of 24 hours of volunteer time per week.  We prefer a minimum 5 month commitment, however that may be discussed. We are currently recruiting for the 2024 season.  Openings are March through Early November.

Volunteer Benefits:

Share your knowledge and expertise to assist with park improvement projects. Maintenance of facilities, trails, and other infrastructure to help maintain a well functioning park for our visitors.  After 48 hours, volunteer will receive a Colorado Parks and Wildlife Volunteer Parks Pass.
