Bluebird Monitoring

Description:

If you have a love for birds then this project is for you! Trained nest box monitors will check for breeding behaviors on a weekly basis and enter the data collected into a national database called NestWatch. This is a great project for new birders and no prior experience is needed.

Time Commitment:

Weekly monitoring with a seasonal commitment from March-August. Adopt a single route on your own, or team members will rotate every 2-3 weeks to share the weekly load. Each visit will take approximately 2-3 hours, plus any additional data entry time spent.

Volunteer Benefits:

Enjoy birding while collecting important data about the health and success of nesting bluebirds

Accessibility:

Requires walking to nest box locations. Length and difficulty will vary based on route location.
