Gay for Good: Boardwalk Staining Project - Barr Lake State Park
Saturday, 23 August 2025 @ 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Maintenance and Construction
That hot Colorado sun does more than just warm our hearts and burn our skin (is that just me?). It also does a number on our boardwalks! CPW is partnering with Gay for Good's Denver chapter to stain - and thus help extend the life of - our boardwalks at Barr Lake State Park. This expands the capacity of staff, stretches our resources, and ensure visitors can continue to enjoy this beautiful park and its trails year round. Barr Lake is known for its birding opportunities (over 300 species are found here!), and its community-focused programs and partnerships. Justin Hansen is the park's resource technician and will provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and supplies. Please wear close toes shoes and clothing appropriate for outdoor weather conditions, and bring your own water, sunscreen, hat, and snacks. Volunteers with ADA requirements shoudl be able to perform this work.
