Get Outdoors Day Annual Event

Saturday, 01 June 2024 @ 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM

Education and Outreach  -  All Ages

Event runs from 9am to 2pm, but most assignments will start at 8am for setup help. We are asking volunteers to stay for the entirety of the event and staff will help to relieve volunteers for bathroom breaks and lunch as needed. If you need a shorter shift please email me ([email protected]) with your schedule needs and we can adjust the hours accordingly. Please bring plenty of water and lunch/snacks, but a water station and food trucks (for purchase) will be available throughout the event. Be prepared for all types of weather - Sun, Wind, Rain. Parking is limited, so carpooling or parking in nearby residential streets may be necessary. For Fishing pole giveaway help - rigging the poles with bait will be needed, with a move to the shoreline to support new anglers, this typically dies down after the first couple of hours, so please become a floater to aid other stations with breaks when possible. MASCOTS - We would love to have two mascots with two handlers to move around throughout the event. Times are negotiable if you are interested, please email me at [email protected] Location: Memorial Park on the NW side of Prospect Lake - activities will range between the boat house and behind the 7-11, with street vendors located along Farragut. Map, parking, and add'l details will be given closer to the event date.
