Help clean up trash at a popular state wildlife area! Keep Simpson Ponds beautiful, prevent trash from impacting wildlife, and when people see a clean natural space they are more inclined to do their part to keep it clean. This is a great opportunity for folks in the Loveland, Ft. Collins or Longmont areas! This project is for OIT staff and their family and friends! If you would like to bring friends or family but don't want to create an account for them, just email Becky Mares at [email protected] to let us know how many people you're bringing. Meet Sam Less at north/main parking lot (see map and directions here: https://cpw.state.co.us/learn/Maps/SimpsonPondsSWA.pdf). Difficulty: easy. No experience needed. What to bring: Wear sunscreen, and layers appropriate for weather predictions, including sunglasses, a hat, close-toed shoes. Long pants are highly recommended to move through brushy or wet areas. Bring at least 1 liter of water and snacks. Bring work gloves if you have them. We will provide gloves for those who don’t have them, as well as trash bags and staff support.
