Habitat Project

Cherry Creek is one of the busiest state parks in Colorado, and increased visitation can take a toll on the natural resources within this property. Come help us with various park improvements for the best visitor experience while conserving the water, land and wildlife in this popular metropolitan park! We will be removing/installing fencing, completing trash pick up, or work to remove invasive weeds from habitat areas. This project is for OIT staff and their family and friends! If you would like to bring friends or family but don't want to create an account for them, just email Tabitha Wolery-Langland at [email protected] to let us know how many people you're bringing. Meet at the Marina on the west side of Cherry Creek State Park. Difficulty: easy to moderate. No experience needed. What to wear and bring: Wear sunscreen, and layers appropriate for weather predictions, including sunglasses, a hat, long pants, and close-toed shoes. Bring at least 1 liter of water and a lunch or snacks. Bring work gloves if you have them. Staff will provide supplies for the project, and gloves for those who don't have them.
