Tree Planting at Hugo SWA  - Hugo SWA

Fri 05/05 - Mon 05/08 @ 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM

Habitat Project  -  All Ages

Join us to plant trees at Hugo State Wildlife Area to improve important habitat! This will also involve installing protective tree guards and low pressure irrigation. Volunteers should wear long pants and layers appropriate for the weather conditions, sturdy closed toed shoes, and sunscreen. Bring snacks, a water bottle and sunscreen. Additional items you could bring if you have them: work gloves, shovels, hand trowels, post hole diggers, utility knife, wheelbarrow or garden cart or wagon. Extended weather outlook currently shows ~60 degrees and sunny, unless there's lightning, heavy snow, or other unsafe conditions, we will proceed as planned. Fire danger is likely to be high, so please keep vehicles off of grassy areas. Lunch will be provided, funded by Great Outdoors CO, and we will have a large water cooler for refills and Gatorade available. Let us know ahead of time if there are any dietary restrictions. Cell service may be spotty. Contact Jeff Belveal with questions: [email protected], cell 719-740-1812 Can't wait to see you!
