Join the Friends of Navajo State Park for a community clean-up event on Saturday, May 9, 2026, focused on beautifying Navajo State Park and laying the groundwork to restart our volunteer group. Date: May 9, 2026 Time: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Location: Navajo State Park, 1526 County Road 982, Arboles, Colorado, CPW Organizers: Debra O’Neill and Kaeti Lehnus: 970-883-2208 This is a fantastic opportunity to: *Help keep Navajo State Park beautiful for everyone. *Meet other community members and park supporters. *Learn about future volunteer opportunities at the park. *Help launch the Friends of Navajo State Park group! Please bring: *Attire appropriate for the weather *Hat *Sunglasses *Reusable water bottle *Closed-toed shoes *Sunscreen Check in at the Group Picnic Area by the Visitor Center at 9:00 am. Volunteers will receive safety equipment and break off into groups to begin trash pickup. 12:00 pm A complimentary light deli lunch will be provided to all volunteers. We can not accommodate special dietary requests. 3:00 pm Check out at the group picnic area Get Involved! We are hosting this clean-up event to not only improve the park but also to gather a core group of friendly volunteers interested in restarting the Friends of Navajo State Park group. The park is consistently seeking enthusiastic volunteers for a wide variety of projects. Whether you have a few hours a month or are looking for a more consistent role, your help makes a difference!
