Clean Up Project

Help clean up trash at two popular state wildlife areas! Keep Lon Hagler and Boedecker Reservoir beautiful, prevent trash from impacting wildlife, and when people see a clean natural space they are more inclined to do their part to keep it clean. This is a great opportunity for folks in the Loveland, Ft. Collins or Longmont areas! This project is for OIT staff and their family and friends! If you would like to bring friends or family but don't want to create an account for them, just email Becky Mares at [email protected] to let us know how many people you're bringing. Meet Sam Less at the "Area 2" Loveland office at 4207 W County Rd 16E, Loveland, CO 80537. This is a small building that is not super well marked. It has a gravel parking lot and a few maintenance sheds and pieces of equipment around. Then you'll head out to Lon Hagler and Boedecker. Difficulty: easy. No experience needed. What to bring: Wear sunscreen, and layers appropriate for weather predictions, including sunglasses, a hat, close-toed shoes. Long pants are highly recommended to move through brushy or wet areas. Bring at least 1 liter of water and snacks. Bring work gloves if you have them. We will provide gloves for those who don’t have them, as well as trash bags and staff support.
