Weed Wrangling - Eldorado Canyon State Park

Invasive Weed Pull & Reveg - All Ages
Eldorado Canyon has invasive weeds! And Eldorado Canyon doesn't spray herbicides. To control weeds we use biological agents (bugs that target very specific invasive species) and hand-pulling. As long as the weather holds, we'll head out and hand pull weeds every Wednesday (mostly). We'll track what weeds you've learned, and as you gain experience and skills, you'll be able to schedule yourself for weed pulling sessions at your convenience. I'll send out a location a few days before each event. Sometimes we'll meet in the main canyon, sometimes we'll meet at Crescent Meadows. It's pretty nice, relaxing work - hope you can join.

Volunteer Notes
Participants should clothing and gear appropriate for Colorado front range weather. Long pants and close-toed shoes are mandatory. Bring gloves and your favorite weeding tool if you'd like, but plenty of those will be available. Bring snacks and hydration. Please load the "Avenza" application on your smart phone - we'll use that to track your efforts.
This is a multi-day activity. Ensure you are selecting an assignment on the date you intend.
