Lathrop State Park is located near the exceptionally scenic Sangre de Cristo Mountains in southern Colorado and has a great view of the Spanish Peaks. Located near Walsenburg and La Veta, Lathrop State Park offers a wide range of outdoor natural recreation opportunities including, fishing, boating, golfing, trails, archery range, photography and much more.

The location allows for many opportunities in outdoor recreation both in and around the park.
Lathrop State Park has 103 campsites, 3 group camping areas, a 140 and 180 surface acre lakes, multiple trails, swim beach, and numerous picnicking areas. Lathrop has good access to Sand Dunes National Park and scenic drives on Highway 12 up to U.S. Forest Service public land. We are the only state park with a golf course and mini golf!
We are only a few minutes from Walsenburg and about 1 hour from Trinidad and Pueblo. There is a hospital located directly across from the park.
In exchange for volunteer service, hosts receive a free, full hookup campsite in a beautiful location! Campsite includes electric (30 amp) or electric (50 amp) and cell service.
