Description:

Built solely for recreation, Sweitzer Lake fulfills its planned purpose well. Less than one hour from the mouth of the San Juan Mountains, visitors water-ski, swim, picnic, fish, boat, bird watching, sit on the grass, picnic, rest their feet on the sandy shore or just enjoy the day.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect entrance fees
  • Dispense park information
  • Light maintenance and grounds keeping
  • Other tasks as assigned

Elevation: 

5142 feet

Host position have been filled for the 2025 season, but waitlist is still open. 

Pairs, individuals, families with children, and people who are still working/in their careers (e.g. working remotely) are welcome to apply (couples preferred). Hosts are permitted to have pets.

Time Commitment:

24 hours per person (couples) per week.  30 hours per person (single) per week. May - September.

2 months

Full hookup campsites, Water, Sewage, Electric (30 amp), Electric (50 amp), Computer and internet access (e.g. can use visitor center or office equipment), Cell service.

Also offer Environmental Education opportunities throughout Delta County.

Note: Sweitzer is a day use park only.
