- Description:
- Volunteer during our 2026 Season. Memorial Day through Labor Day.
- Volunteer for 2 days to 3 weeks in exchange for a free campsite at State Forest State Park! As a "Vacation Volunteer," you'll have the opportunity to give back to your favorite state parks and spend time recreating (even if all reservations are full).
- Help keep State Forest beautiful. Work 2-3 hrs. per day cleaning/restocking the shower house, cabins, and cleaning fire pits in exchange for a full hook-up stay. The full hookup is valued @ $46/day.
- Anyone is welcome to apply (individuals, couples, families, or friends).
- Upon your arrival you will meet with the Vacation Host Coordinator. The Coordinator will provide all necessary supplies, instruction, and training for you to successfully complete your assigned task.
- If we observe that the work wasn’t completed according to expectations, park staff reserve the right to ask you to leave the provided site.
- Requirements and Qualifications:
- 18 years old +. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive an OHV.
- Ability to use a pressure washer, broom, shovel, and stock toilet paper.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Ability to walk without assistance.
- Background check will be conducted.
- 8,000 ft to 10,000 ft in elevation
- Orientation and Support:
- Vacation Volunteers will be supervised by the Vacation Coordinator. All supplies provided.
- Time Commitment:
Camp with us from 2 days to 3 weeks. Volunteer: 2-3 hours per day. 20-25 hrs. per week
- Volunteer Benefits:
- Full hook-up site for free in exchange for fulfilling expectations and time commitment. This site values @ $46 per night.
- No need to go through the campsite reservation system
