Description:

Join the team at this beautiful state park! Known for our mountain beauty within an hour of Denver, this opportunity is not to be missed.

Responsibilities:

• Greet visitors in our visitor center and entrance booth and help orient them to the park, its natural and cultural features, rules and regulations, and available programs.
• Distribute maps and brochures, and answer phones
• Sell park passes, permits, firewood and gift store items.
• Assist with campground reservations, special events and other park programs.
• Cleaning and light maintenance as assigned.

Attention to detail and customer service experience is desirable.

Elevation:

Please note that this is a high mountain park with altitudes ranging from 8,200 to 9,200 feet.

Looking for 1-2 hosts for the 2023 season!

Pairs, individuals, families with children, and people who are still working/in their careers (e.g. working remotely) are welcome to apply (couples preferred). Hosts are permitted to have pets.

Time Commitment:

24-32 hours per week per person, April - October.

Golden Gate Canyon State Park offers beautiful host sites only 30 minutes from Golden, CO. We have a strong team of returning hosts, many of whom return because they love the sense of community they feel with other hosts and park staff. We have opportunities for both site maintenance and office work, and allow for a flexible schedule.

Amenities:

In exchange for volunteer service, hosts receive a free campsite with electricity, water, and sewer hook ups. Cell phone and internet reception in the area is unreliable. Satellite reception is dependent upon set-up/provider.
