Description:

Cherry Creek State Park is anchored around an 880-surface acre reservoir. The park offers a natural prairie environment of gentle, rolling hills and complete outdoor recreation facilities, including camping, picnicking and facilities for group events. The resident volunteer program is one of our most popular volunteer opportunities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform various maintenance tasks throughout the campground.  
  • Responsible for all general campground maintenance and cleaning of public facilities including restrooms, showers, toilets, campsites and picnic areas.
  • Mowing
  • Weed control
  • Build and maintain trails
  • Operates and performs routine maintenance on state owned vehicles and equipment.
  • Provide and ensure quality customer service
  • Facility maintenance and repair.
  • May also assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, general landscape duties and transporting materials and supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

5312 feet

Looking for 1 hosts for the 2025 season!

Pairs, individuals, families with children, and people who are still working/in their careers (e.g. working remotely) are welcome to apply. Hosts are permitted to have pets.

Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age. Must pass a background check. Willing to volunteer outside during inclement weather. Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds repeatedly during the course of a single workday. Knowledge of power tools and hand tools preferred and knowledge of small engine and other equipment maintenance and repair preferred. Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to volunteer with little or no supervision. 

NOTE: This is an ongoing opportunity at the park and applications will be accepted any time. Actual availabilities varies. Once registered, you will be placed on a waiting list and we will contact you as positions open. We receive a high volume of applications for these positions. Time Commitment:

25-30 hours per week from May through September. Serving on weekends and holidays is required.

Camp for free in a beautiful landscape that has easy access to shopping, entertainment, and restaurants in the surrounding Cherry Creek area. Additionally, easily travel to Denver.
