Get Involved: Education - Family Nature Night Assistant
Family Nature Night Assistant
Description:
The Schools and Outdoor Learning Environments (SOLE) program has one mission: connect kids to the outdoors! In a typical year, volunteers with the SOLE program help in our outreach/engagement efforts at Family Nature Nights or similar events but daytime and state parks focused called Family Fun Days. Family Nature Nights are hosted at each SOLE school (over 50 schools around Colorado)! These events bring together outdoor-related partners to offer a fun, festival style event for families of 4th graders. This event is designed to give families a hands-on opportunity to become familiar with the many exciting educational and recreational activities our partners and state parks offer. We are working hard to create new learning opportunities for our students as well as new ways for volunteers to support our programs. Please contact The SOLE team for more information. Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!
Time Commitment:
One Family Nature Night or similar program per year (3 hour commitment per event). Volunteers are welcome to volunteer for as many Family Nature Nights as you would like.
Volunteer Benefits:
Connect youth and their families to the great outdoors of Colorado! When you volunteer with SOLE at our Family Nature Nights you'll get the opportunity to work directly with students and their families to teach them about wildlife and outdoor recreation.
